I had an idea to cross Chess with a card game like Hearthstone. This is the prototype I made before deciding that I should work on other things. I decided to stop working on it because every idea I had would have made the game harder to play. Maybe I will work on it again if I become better at design and think it’s still a good game idea.

How to play

The aim of the game is to put your pieces on the back line of the board (the top row if you are white, the bottom for black). The piece will be destroyed and the enemy team will lose one of their 3 lives. You can take most enemy pieces to stop them attacking you, although some pieces have special rules.

Player turns:

• The first player places a piece from the hand to one of the squares highlighted blue on the board

• The player then moves a piece on the board (you have to wait a turn to move a piece you just placed)

• It is then the next player’s turn

How to use debug mode (the extra pieces in the top right):

• Press space to open and close debug mode

• Click on the piece in the right menu to select it

• Right click on any space on the board to place the selected piece

• Middle click to change the selection to blank (so you can erase pieces from the board)
